The evidence is both direct
and indirect. I am unable to give an official self-proclaimed Communist
publication in which the date is cited. Intelligence agents brought a report
out of China purporting to be the final agreement between Stalin and Mao
Tse-tung fixing the year 1973 as the year of fulfillment of the Communist
dream.
The press stated that
this report had been written into the Congressional Record.
North American Aviation
circulated the report via their Security Department at their plant in
Inglewood, California.
All this would be
highly speculative were it not supported by a great body of indirect
evidence. This includes (a) The statements of Communist Leaders, and (b)
Communist advances towards the goal.
William Z. Foster,
Chairman of the American Communist Party, prefaces his book, "The
Twilight of World Capitalism," written in 1949, with this dedication.
"To my great grandson, William Manley Kolko, who will live in a
Communist United States."
Nikita Kruschev,
appearing on American Television screens, assured his viewers that their
grandchildren would live under a Communist Dictator in America. It is highly
probable he was himself in the role of that Dictator.
His actual statement
was that they would live under Socialism in America. When a man uses a word,
we must know how he defines it. Kruschev is a Communist. He uses the word,
"Socialism" as a Communist. To him, Socialism is the period
following revolutionary seizure of power by the Communist Party. They
establish the Dictatorship of the proletariat, executed by the Communist
Party through its leader, with the duty of liquidating the remnants of the
defeated bourgeois classes and the environmental regeneration of mankind.
The new man formed under Socialism would enable the final form of Communism
to emerge. The Communist definition of Socialism is slavery under a
Communist Dictator.
Kruschev made a
categorical announcement that a Communist Dictator would rule America within
a generation.
This could be ignored
as the megalomaniac dreams of an insane mind, but for the overwhelming
objective evidence supporting his claim. A brief review of Communist
achievements in 1957 is as follows:
1. The election of a Communist government in Kerala; the
best educated and most Christian of the Indian states.
2. The manifestation of tremendous Communist political strength in
Indonesia when the Communist Party emerged as the strongest political
power in the August elections.
3. The election of a Communist government in British Guinea.
4. Communists included in the government of Taos.
5. A Communist in control of the government of Nepal.
6. Tremendous Communist power in Syria.
7. Shattering scientific advances shown by the firing of the
Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile, and the projection into the heavens
above us of the first artificial world-girdling satellites.
We may debate whether the United States or Russia is in
the overall lead in the scientific race, but certain facts are crystal
clear:
Russia is much closer to America scientifically that it
was ten years ago. If the same relative progress continues, they will be
miles ahead in another ten years in practically all fields. Communists
have the most powerful rockets. Communists have the most powerful jet
aircraft engines. Communists have the world’s largest atom-smasher.
Communists are training three times as many engineers and scientists as
the U.S.A. When their China program matures, their superiority will be
overwhelming.
This adds up to an appalling picture. Nothing is gained by
ignoring it. Whistling in the dark may spice danger with melody, but it is
not adequate defense. The estimate of 1973 as the year of the Communist
Conquest is Conservative.
Wake up America! The
battle is joined! The destiny of your home is being decided NOW. Meet the
enemy on the field of his advance. There is so much we can do right now. The
military program is obviously insufficient to meet the present Communist
program of "engineered consent."
The President’s Message
The report of President Eisenhower as it outlined American Scientific
achievements was encouraging. It is good to know that America has submarines
that can surface, discharge a guided missile and submerge while the missile
continues on its deadly way to its destination of doom. Our rejoicing may be
tempered by the realization that Russia has more than 500 such submarines
and that American cities and production centers are much more accessible to
such vessels than the Russian. If we overtake Russia in every type of weapon
construction, we can do no more than restore military stalemate. The battle
cannot be won by material means.
The Printing Press
While we concentrate on military might, the Russian Battle of the
Printing Press is waged incessantly. They have won another engagement. How
proud the Christians have been of the numerous biblical translations. We
have referred to the Bible as the world’s most translated book. This is no
longer true. That honor has been usurped by Lenin’s book "The State
and the Revolution." This grim change took place in 1955.
The writing of V. I.
Lenin, the Communist leader, now occupy first place with 968 translations
being published since 1948, and 371 translations in 1955 alone. The Bible is
second with 887 translations in 1948, and 99 translations in 1955. Another
battle has been lost.
Spiritual Warfare
We cannot win an ideological and spiritual war with material weapons.
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual and might through
God to the pulling down of strongholds. One powerful but neglected weapon is
Prayer. We have received a letter from an individual, who is desperately
concerned, pleading that we launch a Crusade of Prayer. She writes:
"The only thing that will combat Communism is for
some man to rise up, a leader, and get the church to praying.
"There are
enough Christian in the world to put down any works of Satan, anytime,
anywhere, in the world; but there will have to be a concentrated effort.
"Communism works
in the dark, but God’s children are children of Light, so they should be
led out in the open and pray for God to put this evil menace down.
"I suppose there
are many people praying in a half-hearted way about it, but this is such a
serious and fast moving thing that it needs to be a fast moving effort
from God’s people.
"Why don’t
you, Dr. Schwarz, appoint active young ministers and the older ones who
will take up the battle, in every country, and have them to appoint others
in the states and smaller territories, and in turn they will appoint
others to gather the people to prayer?
"I believe the
Christian will take it up, especially if there is a Leader to urge them
on. Nothing can stand against prayer, not even the devil himself.
"God says in Jer.
33:3 ‘Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and
mighty things that thou knowest not.’ Luke 12:32 ‘Fear not, little
flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.’
Rom. 4:13, ‘The promise that Abraham should be heir to the world was not
to him or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of
faith.’ This is where the Church comes in: Gal. 3:29 ‘If ye be Christs,
then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the Promise.’
"The Church
needs a Leader, Dr. Schwarz, and from what I have heard of you, I am sure
you are capable of being that Leader. I know you are a wise, responsible
man, and God can use you to His glory.
"Our Lord Jesus
Christ gave His life to give us Liberty. II Cor. 3:17. We, the Church are
a free people. We must not be brought under the yoke of bondage, but we
will be unless someone rises up to lead God’s people. We are the
powerful ones. When we rise up against anything we, by the poser of God,
can put it down. II Cor. 2:14, ‘Now thanks be unto God, which always
causeth us to triumph in Christ.’
"I’ll be
praying concerning this. May the Lord bless and use you greatly for His
glory."
Who will rise to this challenge? Those who will covenant
to pray, please write. Let us form a great fellowship of prayer fighters.
The Communists have their "peace" fighters. Let us have our prayer
fighters for Christ.
INDIA
The work here continues. A constant stream of
letters flows in relating what is being done in that great land. New centers
are being constantly visited and works established. We include letters from
the President of the Indian Christian Crusade, Bro. Ch. Devananda Rao, and
from his father, Dr. Ch. Pushpanadham.
Bro. Ch. Devananda Rao
writes:
"I was very busy for the last three weeks in the
village Evangelistic Campaigns, and in spite of the strong opposition from
the anti-Christian groups in this area, we were able to conduct all the
meetings very successfully, and we praise the Lord for His Mighty
protection and guidance. I know you will greatly rejoice to hear this good
news. Hundreds of N. T. and thousands of Gospels were effectively and
prayerfully distributed among the needy, and we are sure that God is
speaking to them through the Word in a wonderful way. We are planning (I
mean Mrs. Rao and myself) to leave for the Vijayawada area by this evening
train, to visit our Christian families, and to conduct the Christian
Campaigns. Please pray for us. We are fully confident that our Heavenly
Father Who has been wonderfully guiding and protecting us will surely
guide us in our one-week Camp in Vijayawada area. We wish to go even into
the jungle area in the other districts beyond Vijayawada area. We are
earnestly praying for our Lord’s guidance. As we go from place to place
with the Great Salvation Message, and also with the news of the coming
danger of our deadliest foe, Communism.
"The
responsibilities of our beloved ICC are growing day by day, and we see
extra financial needs to win the souls for Christ and to counteract
Communism and the anti-Christian groups. In the capital of Gunture
District, which is the neighboring district to our Krishna Dt. Where our
ICC building is, we have formed some congregations in the various
communities, and the work will develop there very rapidly. I believe that
my father has sent you the photographs taken there along with his last
letter. The notes on the back of the photographs are being written by me.
I know you will rejoice to receive them.
"At George Pet
there is a church building belonging to the congregation, and we have to
construct a house for the worker as soon as possible. The worker that
stays at Ramireddi Thota will be in charge of Immanuel Peta prayer group
also. We need $120.00 for the purpose of constructing the two houses and a
prayer hall there in the places cited above, and I shall be very much
delighted if you will prayerfully arrange for it also, as we feel it very
necessary. We are praying that our Lord should guide us while we progress
in the work."
Dr. Ch. Pushpanadham
writes:
"I am glad to inform that we held Gospel meetings
successfully along with some of the workers in Gunture District ten days
back. Many of the Caste people are coming to the realization of the
salvation of Christ and are willing to come into our fold. I am herewith
enclosing the group photos taken at the prayer meetings held in George Pet
and Ramireddi Thota, and also the photos of the new friends who got
themselves baptised by me on the 29th of October, 1957. We are
happy to see many atheists turning towards our Lord and we praise Him for
it. We have decided to hold prayer meetings and spread the Gospel in
Gunture District during the first week of next month along with my staff.
Please pray for our Lord to give us more strength and enthusiasm and to
use us in His service to a greater degree."
The first anniversary celebration of the Indian Christian
Crusade will be held in Vijawada the last week of December. We will be
represented by Rev. Lyall Lush. We can look back to a year of achievement.
Can we look forward to a year of growth? Pray for and give to these, our
brothers, in India, in the forefront of the battle. We still need sponsors
for Indian National workers at $15 per month. So few churches seem to have
caught the vision. If you are unable to support an Indian Missionary
personally, can you persuade your Church, your Sunday School Class, or your
Group to do so?
Kerala
Kerala is the state in India with a Communist
Government. The challenge has come to us to work here. Magnificent personnel
are available. George Thomas, a recent Ph.D. from the University of
Washington, has just returned to engage actively in the work here. Although
our finances are strained to the limit, we must not miss this opportunity.
We have the possibility of delivering a real setback to the enemy. We need
$1,500.00 immediately. $500.00 has been given at the time of the publication
of this letter. Please help.
AFRICA
The Dark Continent is also the scene of a
great battle for the young African literates. The book "The Heart, Mind
and Soul of Communism" is now being published in South Africa. Rev.
Richard M. Winchell of the Word of Life Publishers, Roodepoort, Tvl, writes:
"We are going ahead with plans to publish ‘The
Heart, Mind and Soul of Communism’. We want to thank you most heartily
for your help in this project. We are sure that this booklet will meet a
real need in this country. Not only will it be less expensive to print it
here, but I am sure it’s acceptance will be greater, seeing it will be
printed here.
"As the work
progresses, we shall keep in touch with you. We would like to be able to
say that we can raise the rest of the printing cost, but we are really
working close to the bottom of our resources these days. However, we have
faith to believe that the Lord will provide, and know you will be praying
with us to that end.

ANTI-COMMUNISM SCHOOL
The dramatic events on every hand stress the
urgency of the Anti-Communism School. It is not to be held March 17-21, at
Tower Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis. Assisting me will be Rev. J. W.
Drakeford, Professor of Psychology at Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort
Worth, Texas, and many specialists in the tactics of Communism in education,
religion, labor, business, communications, government, and the arts.
Registration will of necessity be limited. It will be geared to the needs of
patriots desiring the knowledge to serve the cause of freedom. Preachers,
educators and legislators will be in attendance.
Itinerary
October was spent in the Pacific Northwest with a week in Canada. One
outstanding occurrence was a debate on Canada Town Meeting of the Air with
two Canadian Socialists. They had been expelled from the Socialist Party of
Canada. The debate was partisan and hot and, I believe, profitable.
November is being spent in Kansas City in the heart of
America.
December 2-8 will be spent in Pasadena, California. I have
been honored with the invitation to deliver the Carver lectures at Pasadena
College.
December 9-15 will be spent in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
