The
Christian Anti-Communism Crusade is a unique organization. It fights
Communism both within the United States and overseas. This is imperative
because the communism program for conquest is expressed by the formula,
"External encirclement, plus internal demoralization, equals
progressive surrender." Communism must be fought on all fronts.
The advances in medical
science have been due in large measure to better Pathology. Pathology may be
defined as the study and knowledge of disease. The pathologist supplies
information concerning the disease to the physician who can then provide
effective treatment. Communism have the characteristics of a disease. This
disease has many symptoms. Unless communism is studied and the cause of the
symptoms diagnosed, no treatment can be successful.
These lectures reveal the Pathology of
Communism.
The Communists are unhappy that the forces of
freedom and morality have al last awakened to the power of music and have
commenced to use it effectively. The communists have been using music for
many years. The ideas of freedom can be presented most effectively by song.

THE SEEDBED OF SOCIALISM
"We cannot build socialism without
socialists."
These are the words of Nkrumah, the dictator
and "redeemer" of Ghana, who was recently overthrown. He was
working to build socialism, not only in Ghana, but in all Africa. He was
aided in the pursuit of this objective by large numbers of communists from
Russia, China, U.S.A., and other countries.
One of these was the British Communist, Pat
Sloan, who spent the year prior to the coup which overthrew Nkrumah,
teaching at the "ideological Institute" in Ghana. In the October
issue of "Political Affairs," the theoretical journal of the
Communist Party, U.S.A., he has written an analysis of the problems of
Ghana. In his article, "Socialist" and "Communist" are
used interchangeably. When he speaks of "Socialism," he means the
first stage of "Communism." We are using the terms in this sense.
Some of his observations are highly relevant
to the situation in the United States. He observes that the failure of this
first effort to establish "socialism" in Ghana was due to the lack
of socialist personnel. "We cannot build socialism without
socialists."
This is the elementary truth that is unseen
by so many intellectuals. They blame economic and social conditions for the
establishment of socialism or communism. As unconscious Marxists, they
parrot the delusion that poverty, exploitation, and oppression are the cause
of communism. There was an abundant supply of all these in Ghana, but the
project failed because of the lack of trained socialists.
The communists know where these socialists
can be obtained. In this article on Ghana, Communist Pat Sloan states that a
considerable time was needed "for the intelligentsia to throw up
dedicated socialists."
Dedicated socialists do not come from the
working class. They come from the intelligentsia. This is the communist term
for the educated and professional classes who have attended colleges and
universities.
The intelligentsia who have become
"dedicated socialists" almost invariably did so during their
student years. The breeding ground of socialists and communists is the
university and college campus. The success or failure of socialism and
communism depends upon their success in recruiting and training college
students as revolutionary socialists or communists.
It is clear that the primary front in the war
to preserve freedom from totalitarian socialism is the university and
college campus. The weapons used are ideological and psychological.
Fortunately powerful weapons to destroy the appeal of communism are now
available in both these fields.
The doctrines which has recruited most
students to communism is that the victory of socialism will abolish war.
This doctrine has now been proven false by the conflict between the Soviet
Union and Communist China. This truth must be enunciated clearly and
repeated constantly.
The psychological factor in student
recruitment to communism is the need to be identified with a noble cause
which merits great sacrifice and makes life worthwhile.
The cause of freeing one-third of mankind
from the monstrous tyranny of communism and preserving and expanding
individual liberty is infinitely challenging to all that is idealistic and
noble in human nature. The refugee outflow proves that communism imposes the
most unbearable tyranny in the history of mankind.
The student need for a philosophy that makes
life meaningful is a challenge to present the Christian gospel in its pure
form.
THE MIRACULOUS POWER OF THE "THOUGHT OF MAO TSE-TUNG" OR
GOVERNMENT BY THE INSANE
"You can’t possibly explain this to
people. They would have to see it for themselves." These were the words
of Dr. John Drakeford, Professor of Psychology and Counseling at
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a regular lecturer at our
schools of anti-communism. He was reviewing a recent edition of the
"Peking Review," and was awed by the enormous adulation being
heaped upon the Chinese Communist leader, Mao Tse-tung, and his thought.
There is literally a competition between the Chinese Communist writers to
find the most extravagant words to praise Mao Tse-tung and "The Thought
of Mao Tse-tung." Here are some headings of consecutive articles in the
"Peking Review" of October 28, 1966:
Making Revolution Depends on Mao
Tse-tung’s Thought, Page 20.
Be Always Loyal to Chairman Mao and Mao Tse-tung’s Thought, Page 23.

is Inestimable, P. 27.
The Radiance of Mao Tse-tung’s Thought Shines Far and Wide, Page 28.
Glory to Mao Tse-tung! Page 31.
The
"Thought of Mao Tse-tung" is the current religion of Communist
China. It is presented as the worker of miracles. Some of these alleged
miracles are amusing.
Often the routine solution to a problem which
could be worked out by anybody with a little common sense, is presented as
the miraculous achievement of the "thought of Mao Tse-tung."
The Communist Chinese news agency "Hsinhua"
claims that "Mao’s philosophical thought" is of "decisive
help" to workers in smelting steel or making electric bulbs, to
peasants in solving problems of agricultural production, to those in charge
of distribution in selling watermelons and other goods, to educators in
establishing academic systems, to doctors in treating burns, and to
scientists in solving complicated problems in the most diverse fields of
science. Even table-tennis players are said to apply Mao’s philosophical
ideas in order to win competitions in this game.
The most amusing incident is that of a barber
who used the "Thought of Mao Tse-tung" to improve cutting hair.
The news agency reported that Li The-hsiung, a barber, has for 6 years now,
studied Mao Tse-tung’s works every day. He has been trying to combine
Chairman Mao’s ideas with his work in the shop. He has used Chairman Mao’s
work "Analysis of the Classes in Chinese Society" and Mao’s
writings on "Contradiction."
The barber in question was "good but
slow," but now he is "good and prompt." Studying Mao’s
works, he says, helped him to find a solution to the problem of
"preventing children from crying when they are having their hair
cut." Having read "that external causes are the conditions for a
change and internal causes are basic to the change so that the former
operate through the latter," the barber came to the conclusion
"that children do not like strangers tampering with their heads and
making them sit still."
What remarkable insight! No bourgeoisie
mother, observing her children, could ever have imagined such a thing. Armed
with a weapon so penetrating as the "Thought of Mao Tse-tung," no
secret in this world remains safe! Surely this discovery merits a Nobel
Prize!
Not only was this deeply-hidden secret
revealed to the barber, he also perceived the solution. He "makes
children skip around in the shop and offers them toys and picture
books."
What bourgeois mind could ever have imagined
such a solution? There is no limit to the Power of the "Thought of Mao
Tse-tung."
It is truly tragic that at this moment the
great Chinese people are governed by the insane.
BERKELEY, THAILAND, AND
VIETNAM
The funds are coming gradually for the special
projects we have been presenting. These projects include:
1) Schools of anti-communism to train
1,000 students to combat communism on their own campuses. The college
campus presents the greatest challenge and also the greatest opportunity.
It is appalling when 14,000 students gather on the campus of the
University of California at Berkeley to applaud Stokley Carmichael as he
advocates racism and rebellion. It is also appalling when the students of
America’s most prestigious university, Harvard, deny freedom of speech
and freedom of movement to the American Secretary of Defense. A positive
program for freedom is imperative.
2) An educational program on the evils of communism in Thailand.
The flames of war are flickering in Thailand. It is our hope that these
flames can be extinguished by the Thai people becoming aware of the true
nature of communism. If we are successful in this venture, it will prevent
the outbreak of a major war and save thousands of lives. Dr. Sluis is
preparing to go to Thailand in January. We must provide him with the tools
to make an educational program effective.
3) Vietnam. There are now more than 350,000 American servicemen in
Vietnam. Many cities will be publishing lists of names of local boys
during the Christmas season. We are sending a copy of the book "You
Can Trust the Communists (to be Communists)" and a letter of thanks
to each serviceman whose name we can secure. Please send us any lists of
names you can obtain.
We have now
received $25,000 of the $100,000 we requested. We are hoping and praying
that this sum will grow to $50,000 by the end of the year. Have you sent
your gift yet?
The darker the night; the brighter the stars.
This is our hour to shine.
