| MORALITY COMMUNISM AND POLITICS Predicting the future has always been, and remains, a cherished goal of mankind. It is not surprising that industries have arisen to satisfy this human hunger. These industries include the various sects of astrology, assorted alleged psychics, and scientific pollsters. The predictions of these prophets are sometimes right, just as old?fashioned methods for predicting the sex of a coming baby were usually right half the time. It is now recorded history that most of those who predicted the outcome of the November 4 Presidential and Congressional elections, including the professional pollsters, were wrong. Even those who predicted the victory of Ronald Reagan over Jimmy Carter were surprised in most cases by the ease and magnitude of that victory, and I know of no professional pollster who predicted the defeat of so many "liberal" Democratic Senators that the control of the Senate will pass to the Republicans. This fulfilled the hopes of many but the expectations of few. The same poll takers and journalists who proved to be so wrong in their prediction of the electoral outcome are now trying to find the reason for the "November 4 massacre". Their conclusions are inaccurate because they underestimate the role which outraged morality played in the election. Having long discarded what they often refer to sneeringly as the Puritan Ethic, they feel little or no moral outrage themselves and are incapable of understanding the intensity of the sense of moral outrage many Americans have felt as they have observed a liberal elite dominating the political process and destroying traditional moral values. In this election, these outraged electors had somewhere to go. They heard voices articulating their outrage and urging them to discard those legislators who either actively participated in the destruction of the legal defenses of their moral values or who stood idly by while others acted as destroyers. A few of the sources of outrage are as follows: Legal Slaughter of the Unborn 1. Many resent bitterly being compelled to participate in the insane system in which it is legal to maim, mutilate, and destroy any beautiful and healthy baby while it is in the body of its mother; but it becomes a capital crime to fail to take every possible measure to preserve the life of the mutilated infant if it breathes after it emerges from the maternal nest. It seems impossible to people of common sense and humane compassion that this can be the legal situation, but it is. This was illustrated in the lawsuit against Dr. Waddill of Anaheim, California, who was charged with murder because he either "strangled" a live baby born prematurely and mutilated as a result of an abortion he performed, or failed to take those measures necessary to preserve its life. His legal defense was that the marks on the baby's neck were not the results of his strangling it, but were caused by the abortion he had performed. To strangle the baby after birth, even though it was damaged and unlikely to be normal, was murder; but to destroy it in the uterus, while it was vibrant and healthy, was legal and, in the eyes of the liberal political and religious elite, moral. To millions of Americans of all political persuasions, this is an outrage to their intelligence and moral being. They are unimpressed by desperate efforts to camouflage it by the euphemism, "Freedom of Choice". Compulsory Busing for Racial Integration 2. Parents have become secondary citizens and have lost control over major areas in the lives of their children. A liberal elite has decided that all children are disadvantaged unless they attend schools in which a substantial number of the students are members of other races. This has led to children being bused forcibly to schools outside their own neighborhood even though this deprives them of normal extra?curricular activities associated with the neighborhood school and forces them to spend long periods each day in buses in heavy traffic and subjects some of them to physical and moral danger. This compulsion continues despite the opposition of the parents, the community, and the people of the entire state expressed through the democratic process. An appointed judge has spoken and so it must be. The children must be sacrificed upon the altar of the idol called "integration". The children of the elite who force this policy on lesser mortals are usually spared the ordeal of busing for racial integration because their parents can afford to send them to private schools and do so. Promotion of Venereal Disease and Illegitimacy Disguised as Sex Education 3. Venereal disease and illegitimate births are being fostered in tax?supported public schools and also in some private schools by programs of sex education, sometimes misnamed "Family Life" education. The paradox is that these programs are often sold to the parents by the claim that they will diminish venereal disease and illegitimacy. The typical "family life" educational program instructs adolescents on techniques of sexual intercourse and contraception in a co?educational and morally neutral environment. It break down the personal and social barriers to promiscuity which have been erected with such difficulty by civilized mankind on the arduous journey from savagery to civilization, and human nature does the rest. The message is "everyone else is doing it, and you should do it too, if you feel like it." Peer pressures are powerful and, when reinforced by official approval, are usually irresistible. The result is a tidal wave of promiscuity able increase in venereal diseases and illegitimate pregnancies. The solution with the inevitable to the latter is often abortion, sometimes compulsory and hidden from the parents. This vicious cycle leads to a weakening of the family and to decay of the nation while the liberal theoreticians 'gloat because they have forced their advanced ideas upon the untutored and backward masses. Homosexuality Disease and Mass Murder 4. The perverse has become "Gay". Liberal tolerance demands that the homosexual lifestyle be regarded as an acceptable alternative to the traditional family of husband, wife, and children. Homosexuals must be allowed to teach in schools, to organize, agitate and proselytize. Liberal chic demands it. This is contrary to common sense, human well?being and Christian teaching as well as to the teachings of all the great religions. Consider the following: (a) Homosexuality is against life itself. The stream of life is fed by the harvest that results from the union of male and female. If homosexuality became universal, human life would cease. Homosexuality is an aberration, an excrescence; it is social pathology. At best the homosexual is deficient and crippled. (b) The homosexual community constitutes a cesspool of promiscuity and disease. The apologists like to talk about meaningful and durable personal relationships, but these are the exception rather than the rule. Limitless promiscuity is the norm. In a study of homosexuals in the San Francisco area conducted by two researchers from the Kinsey Institute, half the men claimed to have had sex with at least 500 different, people. (Midge Dexter, Commentary, Page 46, September?1980) The inescapable result of this promiscuity is widespread venereal and associated contagious diseases. New forms of venereal disease which are resistant to treatment are common; hepatitis is endemic. (c) The antagonism to life, which is inherent in homosexuality, reveals itself in periodic discoveries of mass murders associated with homosexual activities. While murders associated with perversions of heterosexuality, such as rape, are not rare, monstrous mass murders appear more frequent among homosexuals especially when the relative proportions of the heterosexual and homosexual communities are taken into account. (d) Christian teaching abhors homosexuality. It is regarded as the ultimate state of degeneracy resulting from rejection of God and the substitution of humanistic values. How descriptive of certain aspects of U. S. society this passage from Romans 1:22?32 is: Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections; for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Forcible exposure of sensitive children to the advocates of this life?threatening perversion is a source of justifiable parental outrage. The Growth of Communism 6. Concern about the growth of communism is not an unjustified "inordinate" fear. When President Carter rejoiced during his speech at Notre Dame University that the U .S. was now free of its "inordinate" fear of communism, he was not speaking for the majority of the U . S. people. It is wise to fear an oncoming fire and to take energetic measures to fight it. The actions of the Soviet Communist leaders confirm their avowed doctrines that communism must prevail over all the world. From a gross national product greatly inferior to that of the United States, they have extracted vast sums which have enabled them to: (a) Build a massive war machine that surpasses the military might of the U.S.A. (b) Maintain an expensive propaganda program in practically every nation in the world; (c) Support a worldwide subversive and espionage apparatus that penetrates almost all countries; (d) Fight aggressive wars such as the invasion of Afghanistan and support revolutionary forces with weapons and proxy troops as in Angola and Ethiopia; (e) Subsidize communist?ruled countries as they are doing in Cuba to the tune of $8,000,000 per day. These are the actions of people who mean what they say when they affirm their responsibility to assure worldwide communist victory. The relationship of the declining morality within the U.S. A. to increasing Soviet military strength is revealed by the communist formula for the conquest of the U. S . A. It is: "External encirclement, plus internal demoralization, plus thermonuclear blackmail, lead to progressive surrender." The communists do not need to convert large numbers of U.S. citizens to communism in order to conquer this country. Demoralization, not conversion to communism, is the essential element. Anticommunists must be concerned with the moral issues. U . S. citizens have adequate reasons for a sense of outrage. In a cultural sense, many have been underprivileged aliens in their own country. For a long time these have felt isolated and frustrated. The organized minority has prevailed over the atomized majority. This situation has now changed dramatically. In 1980 organizations arose which provided a sense of hope to formerly isolated and frustrated individuals. They were invited to join with millions of other like?minded people to assert their political will. The small donation which seemed so impotent could now combine with the donations of millions of others to form a mighty political force. With the aggregate sums contributed, radio and television time could be purchased and literature could be sent to millions of people. The moral majority now had a voice and an arm and the result is history. A new era of opportunity has opened, but the opportunities must be seized. The communists remain immensely powerful in the military, economic and propaganda realms. Their agents of influence remain entrenched in American institutions. The liberal elite continue to dominate in educational and judicial realms. The love of pleasure has sapped the patriotic fervor of the young. The battle for freedom, morality, and national security is just beginning. A new ray of hope has appeared, but it must be enlarged into a glorious dawn. The achievement of this demands the best we have and are. A COLONY OF JAPAN The magnitude of the problems facing Ronald Reagan and his new administration is revealed in an article published in Science the prestigious voice of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. It quotes a report issued by the House Ways and Means Committee: "We are a developing nation supplying a. more advanced nation??we are Japan's plantation, haulers of wood, and growers of crops??in exchange for high?technology, value?added products." The grim facts that Japan now supplies 23 percent of the U . S. auto market, while the U.S. has an unfavorable trade balance of $9 billion with that country, proves that these are not idle words. U. S. initiative, inventiveness, and creative capacity must be unchained. THE HOSTAGES AS POLITICAL PAWNS During the week before the presidential election, it appeared that the release of the hostages in Iran was imminent. The high noon of expectation passed with the conclusion of the election and, as this is being written, tedious negotiations for the release of the imprisoned Americans is again the order of the day. The passionate hope that the hostages would come home was shadowed by anxiety that their release was designed to influence the outcome of the presidential election. The Republicans had been anticipating an October crisis and it seemed to be arriving on schedule. A report from a confidential, but responsible, source now states that the Iranians were engaged in their own nefarious schemes and that they tricked President Carter. Here is the scenario they described: How Iran Tricked Carter As the election drew near, it seemed probable that President Carter would arrange for the release of the hostages and help his reelection substantially. The release failed to materialize because of the unpredictability of Khomeini who balked at the last. moment. When Iran's prime minister, Mohammed All Rajai, travelled to the United Nations Security Council, he had been given strict instructions by the ayatollah not to enter into any negotiations with the Americans over the hostages. He interpreted this order as applying only to himself, and he let other members of his party start talking to the Americans??principally Dr. Mansour Farhang, who until six months ago was head of Iran's delegation at the U.N. Farhang had been briefed by Iran's President Abdolhassan Bani?Sadr before he left Teheran. Bani?Sadr told him to hint to the Americans that the hostages' release was imminent and to manoeuvre the Americans into submitting a list of the concessions they would be willing to make in return. The Iranian tactic succeeded. The Americans agreed to: 1. Blame Iraq for the outbreak of the Gulf war, and support Iran. 2. Declare that the preservation of Iran's territorial integrity was an American interest. 3. Refrain from recognizing the coronation of the Shah's son, which was due to take place in Cairo on October 31st. 4. Unfreeze the $8 billion of Iranian assets in American and European banks, the day after the hostages are freed. The attachment orders against $6 billion of the assets would be by?passed either by the U. S. Government paying equivalent amounts directly to Iran or by paying off the claimants. 5. Despatch planes to Iran carrying spare parts for fighters, helicopters, antiaircraft and anti?tank missiles, and ammunition, as soon as the hostages left Iran. When they returned to Teheran, the Iranian negotiators reported to Khomeini's son, Ahmad Khomeini, to President Banj?Sadr and to members of the national defense council. Ahmad Khomeini, who had favored the release of the hostages for some time, took the report to his father, who surprised his son by his indecision. The man in Iran who appeared to be on the same wavelength as Khomeini senior was Moussairi Khoeini, who organized the seizure of the hostages in the first place. He had most clout with the militant groups holding the hostages and was also a member of the national defense council, and a member of the seven?man hostage committee set up by the Iranian parliament, the Majlis. Khoeini made some optimistic comments about the possible release of the hostages ??and this was interpreted by the U . S. authorities as confirmation that a deal was in the air, but it seems to have been a trap. Koeini told a session of Iran's national defense council that, in his view, the Americans had still not made enough concessions. He demanded that the Americans should also: 1. Ensure that American, British and French naval ships pull out of the waters around the Gulf. 2. Evacuate the American Awacs radar aircraft from Saudi Arabia and American servicemen from the Omani Island of Masirah. 3. Oblige either Saudi Arabia or Kuwait or Abu Dhabi to sell aircraft fuel to Iran. In the end, Carter and the hostages lost. (The source of this report is available on request) THE U.S COMMUNISTS REACT TO THE ??NOV. 4 ELECTIONS While deploring the election of Ronald Reagan to the Presidency and the defeat of so many Senators, the U. S. Communists found some reasons to cheer in the results of the Nov. 4 elections. Here are a few extracts from their official paper, the Daily World Nov. 5: 1. Progress "Preliminary reports indicate that nationwide, .the. vote jot Gus Hate and Angela Vavi,, Communist candidates for President and VicePresident, was up sharply from the. vote gotten by the. Communists four years ago." (Page. 1) 2. Support in Ohio “Early returns show that Communist candidates won impressive gains in bids around the nation. “Ohio supporters joyfully reported 43,239 votes for U.S. senatorial candidate, Rick Nagin. The Communist candidate got 1.07 percent of the vote in a state where Ronald Reagan won 51 percent of the vote to Carter’s 40 percent. It was the largest vote ever received by a communist candidate in the Buckeye state. “In Washington, D.C., independent candidate for city council, Maurice Jackson, got the largest vote totals of any third party candidates in the district. “These D.C. successes were especially heartwarming since there was only 50 percent voter turnout. “Jackson prominently featured his position as chairperson of the Communist Party of D.C. in all campaign literature. He received 11.5 percent of the vote in his own district, the Adams-Morgan neighborhood. Jackson’s campaign was enhanced by the unofficial endorsement of Council 211 of the American Federation of Gov’t. Employees.” 3. Friends of Communism in Congress “The Congressional Black Caucus kept all but one of its sects, and gained three new ones in Tuesday’s elections. “The three new seats were won by Mervyn Dymally, in Los Angeles, Judge George Crockett, in Detroit, and Gus Savage in Chicago. Melvin Evans, who represented the U.S. Virgin Islands as a non-voting member, lost his seat. Evans is a Republican. “The victory of Judge Crockett, in Detroit, was considered particularly significant. “Crockett ran on a long record as a civil rights fighter. He has fought repression for many years including a stint as attorney for Communist leaders who were jailed under the Smith and McCarran acts in the 1950’s. As a member of the defense team for the initial Smith-McCarran Act trial, he went to jail himself for one year for contempt of court. “In other election developments, Ronald Dellums (D-Calif.), held his seat in the face of a Moral Majority campaign to unseat him. He won 55-60 percent of the vote according to unofficial totals.” (Page 4) The U. S. Communists do not expect to be elected by the U.S. people. They expect to be installed in power by their Soviet masters following the surrender of the U.S. A. in accordance with the formula for the communist conquest of this country: "External encirclement, plus internal demoralization, plus thermonuclear blackmail, lead to progressive surrender." TOM WHITE'S MESSAGE AFTER RELEASE FROM A CUBAN JAIL Thomas White and Melvin Bailey were among 30 U. S. citizens who were released from prison in Cuba on October 27, and who have returned to the United States. Tom White and Mel Bailey had been sentenced to 24 years in prison for the "crime" of dropping Gospel tracts from a plane over Cuba. Following his return, Tom White made a statement which includes the following: We had a trial that lasted 90 minutes. Our defense attorney, whom we had never seen, asked us four questions: How old are you? Are you married? Do you have any children? What's your occupation? Two of the five judges slept and the prosecutor ridiculed us for our faith in God. We were sentenced to 24 years. The Combinado del Este Prison, where we spent 14 months is a Soviet?type prison. Just like in the Soviet Union, many sentences are open?ended based on the prisoner's acceptance of the regime's ideology. From the underwear to our bunk?beds, USSR was stamped on everything. We were guarded by Russian guns with Russian bullets. One of the highest moments during my time in prison was attending a Church service held by Cuban political prisoners. The Cuban prisoners maintain their Christian services because no Church, either in Cuba or from abroad is permitted to minister to them. Their hymns, repeatedly confiscated, are hand?copied on cigarette package paper. Their pulpit was a bed sheet draped over a board. They were led by a Protestant and a Catholic: Noble Alexander and Andres Vargas Gomez. Noble is a minister who has numerous scars on his back resulting from shots fired by the guards to disperse his Church services. Andres Vargas Gomez, in his sixties, has been in prison since 1960. He is a writer and attorney. He suffers from asthma and is very weak, and even then he gave me his egg ration when I was sick. I was in the hospital for two months with Armando Valladares, the Cuban poet. His legs are paralyzed as a result of prison mistreatment. His therapy equipment, donated by Amnesty International, was thrown by the authorities in a corner of the room like a pile of junk, where it lies now. He is given no treatment. As of a week ago, Dr. Puentes ordered that the protein diet he had been permitted, be discontinued. He is not allowed letters or visits. His family photos were taken away. During my time in Castro's prisons, sixteen "Lancheros" (those wanting to leave Cuba) were beaten with iron pipes, steel cables, machetes, and clubs. One we know died. These were beatings by officials??including lieutenants Salchinas and Calzada. I saw Mario Chanes, the revolutionary leader who fought against the Batista dictatorship, brutally beaten by a guard in the hospital. Early this year, I saw a young man dive off the fourth floor, committing suicide. The same day in building two, another Cuban dived off the fourth floor, crashing on the concrete patio. Early this year Fidel Castro said that all those who wanted to leave Cuba could do so. Yet, he still holds many prisoners whose only crime is to disagree with the regime. I urge President Carter to bring the plight of close to a thousand long?term political and religious prisoners??now being held at the Combinado, Boniato and other prisons, to the attention of the international community. I thank the U.S. churches and media who have been very helpful in calling attention to our situation in Cuban prisons and urge them to continue to focus the attention of the American people on the plight of these, our suffering brothers. We rejoice in the liberty of our brothers, whatever the motive of Castro may have been for releasing them. THE WAR CALLED PEACE The Nov. 7 edition of the U. S. Communist newspaper, the Daily World contains two captions which appear contradictory. The first states: "Socialism is Irreversible", while the other states: "U.S. Communists Hail U.S.S.R. on 63rd Anniversary??PRAISE SOVIETS in Struggle for Peace". The first of these captions practically guarantees frequent wars. It affirms the communist conviction that once communist rule is established over the people of any country, that rule must be permanent. The people of that country must not be permitted to overthrow their communist masters under any circumstances because this is contrary to the will and laws of history. This conviction that socialism is irreversible is the foundation for the Brezhnev Doctrine which is presently being applied in Afghanistan and which is the cause of continuous consternation in Poland where a Soviet invasion is threatened. Wherever communist regimes are threatened with being overthrown, it becomes the inescapable duty of the International Communist community to provide "fraternal assistance". Every time the communists are successful in establishing temporary power in any country, they establish rights to draw upon the resources of international communism to maintain themselves in office. As Afghanistan illustrates, the international communist forces will come even when the local communist authorities do not invite them. Thus, the conviction that socialism is irreversible creates a threat of war whenever any country is conquered by communists. How can the devotees of this doctrine be hailed and glorified as the creators and preservers of peace? The mystery disappears once we understand the communist definition of peace. Communist doctrine affirms that war must exist as long as capitalism exists anywhere, because war is part of the essence of capitalism. Within each capitalist country, there exists the class war between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, and since the proletariat rules in countries such as the Soviet Union and Cuba, while the bourgeoisie rules in the U.S. A. and other capitalist states, the class war has become international. The relationship between communist?ruled and capitalist?ruled countries is essentially one of war even though, temporarily, the guns may be silent. In this situation, peace is the cessation of this war. Moreover, communist doctrine affirms that the war can end in one way only??total and irreversible communist victory. This is the law of history. It follows that any step towards communist victory is a step towards peace. Any action that advances communism is peaceful. The hilarious statement by Romesh Chandra, head of the World Peace Council, "The armed struggle is the Peace Movement," now becomes comprehensible. The awesome thermonuclear missiles of the Soviet Union are agents of "peace". Beware! As Jesus said, "When they say unto you, Peace and Safety, sudden destruction cometh upon them." POST OFFICE BOX 890 227 EAST SIXTH STREET LONG BEACH, CA. 90801 Area Code (213) 437?0941 Christian Anti?Communism Crusade January 1, 1981 Dear Friend, "I can't contribute to your Million Dollar Truth Fund because I don't understand what you plan to do with it." The sincerity of the writer of these words was indicated by his accompanying check to support those activities of the Crusade which he does understand. Lest there be others who do not comprehend what we plan to do with this fund, I will try to describe the project as clearly and specifically as possible. The purpose is to spend the money to support, train and supply active, devoted, and sacrificial anticommunist workers in as many countries as possible. Most of these workers will be national Christians, but we will also support others such as Moslems and Jews who are dedicated to fight communism and preserve freedom. One of the functions of these workers will be to distribute anticommunist literature which is specially translated and printed. Let us take one example. A dedicated Christian Anti?Communist Cuban, who is a professional translator of English into Spanish, has offered his services to the Crusade. He is eager to prepare a Spanish translation of the Crusade newsletter to distribute to Spanish?speaking people in the U. S . A., as well as in Mexico and other countries of Latin America. Surely we can all understand how important this project is. The communists are acutely aware of the importance of our Spanish?speaking citizens and neighbors as many of the communist newspapers published in the U . S . A. are bilingual in that they are printed in both English and Spanish. We already have the series of articles, "Why I Am Against Communism," translated into Spanish and ready for the printer. We are now faced with the problems of printing and distribution. The message should be distributed in this country and in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua (if possible), Costa Rica, and Panama. That only covers the countries of Central America, and we must also provide the countries of South America and the Caribbean with workers and literature. To print and distribute this literature requires: 1) Personnel, and 2) Money. We need a key person in each country who will select distributors and methods of distribution. Each coordinator and his distributors will need support, direction, and supplies. Are such workers available? They are. Every day our mail contains letters from sincere anticommunists offering their services. It is no exaggeration to say that thousands are eager to serve. They are in most countries of Latin America, Africa, and Asia. We could easily spend a million dollars in one country, but the object is to recruit and support workers in many countries and show, by example, what can be done. Our prayer is that others will follow our example and that the government will be persuaded to devote a sum equal to one percent of the military budget to a worldwide truth campaign which will reveal communism in all its horror to people everywhere. Have I made the project plain? I hope so. The response will provide the answer. We are still far from our goal of one million dollars. With Christian love, Fred Schwarz |
